As you pass by the At Minute House, it is almost unreal the first time Old Town Square reveals itself from around the corner. While it can be tempting to trot right to the center of the square like a moth to a light, make sure to take the time to take in the classic view. Old Town Square has been the heart and soul of Prague even long before the city was officially founded in 1091 AD. The perfect viewpoint gives you Old Town Hall with its Astronomical Clock to your left, the Gothic Church of Our Lady Before Týn in the center, and a row of Medieval houses on your right. For maybe the most unique perspective of the classic viewpoint, consider visiting street level patio or rooftop terrace of the fancy Hotel U Prince (website). The hotel also has a famous underground cave-like bar called the Black Angel which is worth a visit. The next few stops on this free Prague walking tour will highlight the many historic attractions that Old Town Square has to offer and shouldn’t be missed.
